I have combined years of fine art training and experience in traditional mediums such as drawing, watercolor, pastels, and oils, with my more recent expertise using computers for graphic arts and in publications. I find that the pressure sensitive Wacom Stylus is identical to using a pen, pencil or brush. Combining conventional media techniques with digital imaging and uncommon materials provides unique and unlimited possibilities!

What results from the marriage of these old & new methodologies, is art that may look modern but can also depict classic styles, sometimes evocative of vintage techniques like screen printing, watercolor or antique frescos. The use of modern technology allows more flexibility, speed, versatility and cost effectiveness, with fewer brushes to wash!

Recently, I started working with my interior decorator daughter, Meshell Lane & her professional photographer fiancé Tim Gillespie to launch ART DÉCOR PORTRAITS.

The Art Decor Portraits team is committed to "Capturing Spirits & Telling Stories" through a unique combination of photography and art. Our mission is to create a truly unique and autobiographical piece of art for each and every one of our clients. Everybody's style is different so we will work with you to not only make sure the piece fits your style but also your budget.

Each ART DÉCOR PORTRAIT is inspired by the spirit of the subject, reflecting their personality and style. “The subject becomes part of the Creative process by being the inspiration for the art.” An interview comprised of soul- searching questions help to reveal the inner spirit of the subject. CUSTOM DESIGNED FOR YOUR DÉCOR -
A design consultation at the future site of the piece is conducted to insure that considerations of style, space and color are addressed to assure the new piece will enhance the chosen surroundings. (Complimentary for local residents.) With modern archival materials, pieces can be almost any size & SHAPE, on metallic surfaces or adhered directly onto a wall creating an "instant mural".
